When Alzheimer's Disease or Dementia strikes, your family can feel overwhelmed, hopeless and left in the dark. Shed light on your family's despair with the Lighthouse at Mulberry.
This special care unit provides a safe, secure environment, a specially trained staff and stimulating activities that help residents live happier lives. The secured unit, featuring a keypad electronic security exit system, allows freedom of movement within the spacious unit, but ensures that residents cannot leave the unit without staff assistance.
A bright cheery atmosphere created with colors, textures and open spaces, creates a calming presence. Staff interaction encourages cognitive stimulation. Specially selected activities meet specific needs. A strong sense of family prevails.
Established in 2000, The Lighthouse was chosen by Purdue University School of Nursing in 2004 to study the effects of Alzheimer's on caregivers. The Lighthouse staff and administration continue to foster relationships with Alzheimer's professionals on the national, state and local levels.
