Herman and his wheelchair.
Below is Herman’s rehab story – as told by his wife.
Herman had a heart attack and had to have open heart surgery. He was in the hospital for an extended period of time – almost 20 days.
When it got close to getting out of the hospital, we knew that he would need help getting back on his feet.
We chose Mulberry because we heard about how good the rehab was and we personally lived close. We knew several people that had come for rehab and were home in a short amount of time as well.
“If it hadn’t been for rehab – I don’t know if I would have been back walking yet or not,” tells Herman. “They got me up and going in a very short amount of time. It was painful at first, but each day got easier.”
Herman came in – in a wheelchair and in 5 days, they had him walking up and down the hallways. To me, that is just unheard of – getting that much progress that quickly.
His private rehab suite was so nice. It really had all the comforts of home. I had the freedom to come and go, and even bring in some meals for him. It was like having a private apartment.
The staff treated us very well too. They met us at the door the moment we came in and provided anything we needed. They were always there to help.
I have been asked a few time about where to go for rehab and I always tell them Mulberry. In fact, two of my sisters have been here and are home as well.
It is such a nice place.
